Revision. The one word that makes me want to throw up just at the sight of it. Another word for studying which is contraction of student dying (Thank you Tumblr) which is pretty self explanatory when you're hauled up in a room with so many books it could be the library from Harry Potter (I may of gained a new obsession... expect more!).
The endless hours of a scrawling mess called handwriting and depending on caffeine filled drinks to drive you through this torture. Books, book everywhere! And not even the good kind which drags you into the story. no. Not at all. Its the ugly stepsister of those books who just want to make everyone miserable and depressed and even more stressed when the supposed aim is to help people i mean HELLO?! Do your job because right at this second I'm one second away from walking out of the room, making a fire then throwing these books into it.
Another issue with revision is the amount of pencils and pens and other necessities that are constantly lost or replaced or bitten through this sad time is humongous. I for one can never keep a pencil or pen for more than a few seconds before its lost or on the other side of the room when i get bored and decide to see if i can hit a specific spot on my wall. Then later that night, or morning if you get distracted like some people *raises hand* you seem to find them all in a cluster as you fall into your amazing beautiful sheets of protection to fall asleep but no... you're hit with the reminder of the past few hours of dreary hours you only JUST survived. Neat and organised people, i salute you for the skill of keeping pens for more than 20 minutes.
But on a serious note, if you got exams coming up or are in the middle of them right now. Do revise as it WILL make a difference in the end. It is long winded and takes a long time but it will pay off in results, you just all have to find your own way of revising and see what sticks in your head. Resist the urge to go on Facebook or Twitter or social media... Says me with maths revision in front of me writing a blog... NOT THE POINT, but please try your hardest to get those results you want :)
To you all, I'm just a Hidden Identity
I completely understand what you are trying to say. Revision is effectively the reason why most social lives suffer, or even die. It is horrid how much pressure is put onto students at one particular time. Why don't teachers understand that there is so much hard work that needs to be offered but not enough hours in the day? They throw exams at us which concludes in revision, then decide it would be hilarious to drown us in homework!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Please keep it up. I enjoy your writing so much.

The fact that they want us to get revision done, homework, 6 hours of school 5 days a week and still get enough sleep to not look like zombies - its not doable. Surely they should understand this from their years at school yet do it to us anyway.
